Our bachelor of science in nursing degree program provides our diverse student body with a solid academic foundation that includes theory, clinical experience and attention to personal growth. The program prepares you for a career as a nursing generalist – focused on being a provider and manager/coordinator of care.
Is NIU nursing hard to get into?
Admission to the NIU School of Nursing is competitive and extremely limited. There is no guarantee of admission. Students should work with an academic advisor regarding the competitive nature of the program. Admitted nursing majors must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
How long is NIU nursing program?
The nursing program takes a minimum of five semesters (2½ years) to complete once students begin the professional program. Transfer students and current NIU students are reviewed as separate applicant pools.
